Stop Everything and Go See “Thor: Ragnarok”

It was 2008, and I was in Universal Orlando when I first saw Iron Man. It was the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, and it is not slowing down anytime soon. I remember before MCU, we were stuck with films that only produced trilogies or had way too many villains in one scene.  It’s nice to have our beloved comics actually feel like comics, and allow much needed character development.

I’ve had my top Marvel films for awhile now, but Thor: Ragnarok surpassed The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Solider (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) in my world. I went into this film nervous that it was going to be like GOTG2, which I felt was over the top and the humor didn’t feel authentic.  I’ve read many reviews where fans felt the humor in Thor: Ragnarok was forced, but I was hanging off my seat dying in laughter. It’s so interesting how we all have different views, and react to humor differently.

I’m not going to give you a plot summary or any spoilers, but I will list five reasons why you should check out Thor: Ragnarok :

1) There’s no time to think about Facebook

You know when you’re watching a movie, and those boring filler moments happen. I didn’t yawn once or feel bored out of my mind.  When I thought I knew what was going to happen, the plot changed or surprised me.

2) The Hulk

The big guy is back and he has more screen time! I can’t say much without spoiling!

3) There are fun cameos

It’s no surprise that Stan Lee makes a cameo in every Marvel film, but there’s another cameo to look out for!

4) The Return of Loki

You can either love or hate him, but whenever he has screen time with Thor you never know what will happen between the two brothers.

5) Did I mention the film is great and you need to see it!

With Avengers: Infinity War coming out next year, it is important to make sure you are up to date on all Marvel knowledge as we move into the long awaited wars.

Go check it out and please feel free to share your thoughts with me!

What’s the future hold for “A Bug’s Land” at Disney’s California Adventure?

A few days ago, Tracy Robben reached out to me with a petition she created to save “A Bug’s Land” at Disney’s California Adventure. There are rumors circulating that a Marvel Land may take its place. Nothing has been confirmed. Tracy decided she wanted to start a petition now before anyone makes a decision. She needs 500 signatures to present to the Walt Disney World Company. Tips for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Halloween is starting early this year at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) begins August 25 and runs through select nights until November 1, 2017. Halloween at the Magic Kingdom is my favorite time of the year, and I have all the tips you need to have a blast at the party.

Before you go:

  • Please remember MNSSHP is a separate ticket from your regular admission. Please purchase early because they will sell out!
  • Read over all the rules and regulations regarding costumes and appropriate attire for the party. I highly recommend dressing up, but remember costumes must stay family friendly.

Before the party begins:

  • You can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4pm. Link your tickets to your My Disney Experience App.
  • If you decided to arrive at MK early go ahead and eat, enjoy a few rides and shop for merchandise. If it is your first time going to MNSSHP party then it is important to arrive early and have a plan in place for your family.

Party Time:

  • I highly suggest if you are a fan of Jack Skellington or The Seven Dwarfs you will want to be in line by 5:00PM because the line will never stop for the rest of the party. These characters are extremely popular, and you don’t want to miss out on the rest of the party.
  • Look for the huge orange Mickey balloons, which will lead you to candy. Yes, adults get candy too!
  • Meet a few specialty characters and ride a few rides. There are typically no waits for rides during special events! Make sure you ride the Haunted Mansion during the party!
  • Try special treats throughout the park! Disney Parks Blog released all of the new treats for the party this year. Typically there are not many choices, but they are going all out this year.
  • Afterwards go ahead a secure a place in front of the castle for Happy HalloWishes, Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular and Boo-To-You Parade.

(I would suggest finding a spot close to the castle around 9:30pm. Watch Happy HalloWishes at 10:15pm, then Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular at 10:45pm and end with the Boo-Too-You Parade at 11:15pm. You will not have to worry about moving all over the park)

Time changes for this year’s party:

  • Boo –To-You Parade times 9:15pm and 11:15pm. I highly suggest attending the second parade because it will be less crowded!
  • Happy HalloWishes at 10:15pm
  • Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular will have only three showings this year 8:15pm, 10:45pm and midnight.

Extra PhotoPass fun:

There will be magic shot locations added to the party this year

  • Entrance to Magic Kingdom
  • Town Square
  • Liberty Square
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Main Street U.S.A.

My biggest tip of all is to have fun, and enjoy being able to be a kid again in the most magical place on earth!

Disney Pets Week!

This week my sweet Bella has to have surgery on a Mast Cell Tumor that was recently found on her chest. We are praying it will be bengin. In the meantime, she will need serious cuddles all week from her animal friends! If you would like to share a picture of your pet dressed up or in a Disney environment, she would love it! You are welcome to post in the comments below, message/share on my on social media pages or you can email me at

Don’t Let FastPass+ Stress You Out!

When I help clients with their Walt Disney World Vacation planning, I’m frequency asked how to choose FastPass+ attractions.  Choosing FastPass+ attractions can be stressful if it is your first visit or you are unsure about line times. I would like to share a few best practices when it comes to selecting FastPass+ for you and your family.

I narrow FastPass+ attractions down to three categories:

  • Big Thrills- These attractions are typically the most popular in the Parks. They usually consistent of sudden drops, fast pace movement and lots of screams.
  • Family Thrills – Family friendly rides that may have small thrills.
  • Tiny Thrills – These attractions are for the little ones in your family.

Magic Kingdom

These are the top attractions I would recommend selecting a FastPass+ for. Remember you can only select three, and once they are used you can select another three.

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Big Thrill)
  • Enchanted Tales with Belle (Family or Tiny Thrill)
  • Jungle Cruise (Family Thrill)
  • Peter Pan’s Flight (Family or Tiny Thrill)
  • Space Mountain (Big Thrill)
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Family Thrill) * Extremely popular and FP+ will sell out*
  • Splash Mountain (Big Thrill)
  • There are several character meet and greets such as Ariel, Cinderella, Mickey, Rapunzel, Tiana and Tinkerbell (Family or Tiny thrills)

These are the top attractions I would recommend selecting a FastPass+ for. At Epcot you can only choose from one selection first, and then you are allowed to select two more in the next section.

Section 1

  • Frozen Ever After (Family or Tiny Thrill) *Extremely popular and FP+ will sell out*
  • Soarin’ (Family Thrill)
  • Test Track (Big Thrill)

Section 2

  • Mission: SPACE (Big Thrill)
  • Spaceship Earth (Family Thrill)
  • Meet Disney Pals at the Epcot Character Spot (Family or Tiny Thrills)

 Hollywood Studios

These are the top attractions I would recommend selecting a FastPass+ for. At Hollywood Studios you can only choose from one selection first, and then you are allowed to select two more in the next section.

Section 1

  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (Big Thrill)
  • Toy Story Mania! (Family Thrill) *Extremely popular and FP+ will sell out*

Section 2

  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (Big Thrill)
  • Star Tours (Big or Family Thrill)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

These are the top attractions I would recommend selecting a FastPass+ for. Remember you can only select three, and once they are used you can select another three.

  • Expedition Everest-Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (Big Thrill)
  • Kali River Rapids (Big Thrill)
  • Kilimanjaro Safaris (Family or Tiny Thrill)
  • Avatar Flight on Passage (Big Thrill) *Extremely popular and new. FP+ will sell out*
  • Na’vi River Journey (Family Thrill) *Extremely popular and new. FP+ will sell out*

These best practices will make your stay more magical. Typically from my experience the attractions that I did not list usually have a wait time of 30 minutes or less, but please remember Walt Disney World attracts more than 53,000 visitors daily!  There will be lines, but the themed queues will make your wait go by quickly.
